Being a Florida family photographer has its perks – with warm weather being at the top of the list (though if you’ve read this post, you’ll know that we definitely have a little bit of a love/hate relationship with Florida weather 🤪)! But generally, it allows us to do sessions outside nearly year-round. However, for those couple of months during the year when it’s unbearable or unreasonable to go outside, that’s not going to keep us from photographing your beautiful families! Today we’re sharing one of our favorite examples of tackling winter weather with this stunning studio newborn session!
This sweet baby brother was born in November, making a studio session an easy choice! Mama wore a lovely white lace dress from the NBP client closet. For the boys, she chose a cozy chunky newborn set for baby brother and layered a light blue sweater with precious knit overalls for big brother – all from the NBP client closet, too! For some individual images of baby brother, we also layered a chunky knit blanket to add to the winter textures.
As you can see, even though this studio newborn session is primarily focused on baby and full-family connections, there are also some images of just big brother with mom and dad! We never want to forget big siblings! We do this out of our empathetic approach to working with children. Especially during such a transitional time, we believe it’s important to give some special attention to the older kiddos. Babies usually bring big feelings for siblings with them. Giving them a moment to shine can make them feel more involved in the portrait session! It also gives them something to look back on the session that’s just theirs.
