Slaying at Norriego Point: Melanie and Hannah

This morning I woke up before sunrise to meet these lovely ladies at the beach- and I’m so glad I did (although at 4:30 this morning, I may have told you otherwise)! I had the best time with these girls! We explored a new-to-me location, and I don’t think this was a morning I’ll ever forget!

When we arrived at Norriego Point, the sun was just beginning to rise. We walked out on the beach where I took my shoes off (remember this detail), and began shooting. I envisioned Melanie standing in the pretty tulle skirt with heels on the jetties, but as it turns out, my geography skills are abysmal and we were quite a hike away from the jetties…instead, we walked a concrete plank in the water nearly to the end. We all squealed as we watched the water churn with a half dozen gigantic jellyfish floating around. Pretty sure I lost a little bit of credibility where my sanity is concerned, but we made it!

We then hiked in the sand and took some more photos while the girls gave me a vocabulary lesson. I can now use the word “slay” correctly (I think)… it took a few tries, but I think I finally got the hang of it (as it turns out, when Hannah was telling Melanie “slay” as we were shooting, it was meant as an imperative verb, not an adjective…but still a compliment. Who knew?)!

We then dodged jellyfish in the water with one close call- we enacted mandatory foot observation after that. I think the resulting photographs are more than worth it though!! And just a note to you seniors- feel free to bring a best friend along with you to your shoot! It makes the fun even greater!

After our wonderful time on the beach, we went our separate ways. My hubby tagged along with us girls, and afterwards decided to treat me to breakfast. When we got to the restaurant, I went to put my shoes on…only to realize that they were still nestled in the sand on the beach. This left my only footwear option my nude heels that you see gorgeous Melanie modeling….with my shorts and t-shirt. Definitely a memorable experience!

Melanie and Hannah, thank you for the most fun way to start my day! You girls slay! (Right?)
