Sweaty palms, awkward directions, and an inability to articulate my thoughts. This is the description of the first time I photographed the Childers family. You see, the Childers were the first family I ever photographed… before I had even dreamed of having a photography business, I was just a friend with a camera who kind of knew what I was doing with it. When Amber And Josh were expecting their little girl they asked me to take some quick maternity photos for them and I happily (and nervously) obliged! Our session at the beach this time was a little bit different than our first session together (namely, I was much more confident in my abilities!)!
Their kiddos are some of the most well-behaved on the planet (for real), and it was so much fun to be able to play with them at one of my favorite locations on Okaloosa Island! They had a great time running around in the sand and toward the water, and I had the best time capturing images that are true to their family! It’s no secret that one of my favorite portions of any session is taking the parents aside to photograph them alone for a minute- after all, that’s where the love story of their family began! And let me just tell you, Josh and Amber didn’t disappoint! I shared my vision with them, and they happily went along with each of my ideas- they’re seriously the best!! One of the best feelings as a photographer is being able to share a vision that turns into a beautiful reality, and their “let’s go with it!” attitude made that so easy! Not pictured: behind the scenes as we got “mom and dad” shots, my hubby got to go back to his little kid self and play with the little ones! It’s not often that he’s able to join me on sessions, but I love when he is!
Josh and Amber, thank you so much for the opportunity to serve your family again! I love you guys and am grateful for your presence in our lives! Also…super thankful for your gorgeous family- you make my job easy!!
