Time flew by, and this sweet little guy officially hit the six-month milestone! From his cozy newborn session in the studio to this sun-soaked evening at Cerulean Park in Watercolor, it was such a joy watching him grow. This session was all about celebrating his newfound curiosity, documenting those big, gummy smiles, and experiencing a major first—his toes in the sand and the Gulf for the very first time!
Mama once again looked absolutely stunning with some glam by Hair and Makeup by Alex Godshall, and big sister was right there by baby brother’s side, doting on him and keeping us all entertained. She was so proud to show him the sand and water, making this experience even more special for the entire family. (Because what’s a big sister’s job if not to be part cheerleader, part accidental splash zone?)
The lush greenery and iconic water features of Cerulean Park gave us the perfect backdrop before we made our way to the shore. There’s something magical about the way a baby reacts to the feel of sand for the first time—curiosity, surprise, and pure delight all at once. And this little guy? He absolutely loved it. Watching his tiny feet touch the warm Gulf waters was one of those moments that felt too good to be real.
The six-month milestone is one of the most underrated but truly incredible stages to document (read my full dissertation on why I would photograph six monthies all day, every day right here!). At this age, babies are full of personality—sitting up, giggling, and making the best expressions. They’ve left the sleepy newborn phase behind and are on their way to toddlerhood, but they’re still very much a baby. It’s a fleeting stage, and I was so grateful this family prioritized documenting it. Truly – one minute they’re belly laughing at peekaboo, and the next, they’re negotiating snack deals like tiny lawyers.
Next up? This sweet boy’s first birthday session! It was hard to believe how fast this year went, and I couldn’t wait to see how much more he had grown. If you’ve been considering documenting your baby’s first year in a meaningful way, I’d love to chat about how the First Year Collective can make that process effortless and beautiful for your family.
If you’re ready to book your own First Year Collective, let’s connect! These moments are fleeting, but the imagery lasts forever.
