Everything You Need to Know About Photography in Rosemary Beach

Stunning Grecian architecture, perfectly manicured greens, and all the charm of a family-friendly beach town situated on the most beautiful white sand beaches in America… who wouldn’t want to choose to have family photography in Rosemary Beach?! But if you have your eye on this unique location for your own family session, there are some regulations you need to know about.

Rosemary Beach is a private neighborhood situated along 30a in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Because it is a private community, there are understandably rules in place to ensure the comfort and safety of their owners and guests. With regard to photography, family sessions are allowed only for owners or guests of Rosemary Beach. This means that if you’re staying in Rosemary, you’re able to obtain a photography permit. This permit is complimentary for guests of The Cottage Rental Agency, Rosemary Beach’s official rental company. If you’re a guest renting through a different rental company, such as VRBO, you’re still able to obtain the permit for a $500 fee paid to Rosemary Beach. This permit needs to be applied for no later than 72 hours before your session – but don’t worry! If your session is with NBP, we’ll take care of the application process for you. You can read more about their policies on their official website here.

If you aren’t staying in Rosemary or would prefer not to obtain the permit, but would like to have a session done on 30a, you’re not out of options! Sessions can be done at any public beach access (as long as your photographer has an applicable Walton County beach vending permit). Other options include Grayton Beach State Park, Cerulean Park in Watercolor, or Eden Gardens State Park. You can read our full guide to photography locations along 30a here!

In summary, if you’re thinking about photography in Rosemary Beach, it’s doable as long as you’re a guest or owner of theirs!
