Welcome to Florida, where the weather has a COMPLETE mind of its own! I mean, seriously, if you’ve ever been to visit the beautiful coast of Florida, especially in those balmy summer months, then you know: she crazy. But seriously, as a seasoned Florida photographer, I know firsthand that weather is one of the biggest hurdles to clear during your beach family session. Not to worry, though! Those cloudy images usually end up being some of my favorites (don’t tell the sunset!), and I’m confident you’ll feel the same way once your gallery is revealed.
Just take this beautiful picture and try to guess the weather…you can’t, can you?!
That’s right, this stunning memory was made with thunderclouds and torrential downpours in the not so distant background. And yet, this portrait is now this family’s favorite and is framed in their gallery wall proudly at home.
I used to previously favor sunny days compared to overcast, but in the past couple of years I’ve grown to really embrace the overcast tones and oftentimes, those sessions become my favorites! So if you are planning your session and end up with an overcast day, no need to worry!
On the flipside, Florida is also known for some spicy southern heat! There are definitely days that will make you feel like your face is melting right off, that cause sweat stains to peep through your perfectly selected attire (this is where my mad photoshop skills come in handy). Again, just take a look at this bright, hot, but beautifully lit portrait and try not to swoon!
